Since 1952, the Schild family have lived and worked in the Southern Barossa, growing grapes and creating wines with authenticity and passion, from real Barossa earth, in a place they call home. 2016 marks another milestone in Schild's history, the launch of their Canadian wine club. WineCollective is excited to announce that you now have the opportunity to experience the Barossa Valley without leaving home. Visit SchildEstate.ca to learn more!
Schild is an icon producer from Barossa, and the GMS is definitely an over-achiever. No shortage of accolades here, 5-Star Halliday Winery Rating, Silver Medal at the San Francisco IWC 2016, Bronze Medal at the Melbourne IWC 2016, and 91 points from Campbell Matthison at Winefront. At an accessible price-point, the GMS over-delivers on all levels. This is bold and playful today, but also has cellaring potential and could age easily until 2022.
Deep ruby, vibrant from core to rim.
Bright smashed raspberry and cherry, balance with the perfect amount of spice, pepper licorice. There is no oak fermentation, all the lovely aromatics are fruit derived and pure.
This blend of Grenache (52%), Mourvedre (24%) and Shiraz (24%) is an homage to the great wines of the Southern Rhône but with a very Barossan accent. Blended to showcase the unique qualities of each whilst ensuring balance, purity of fruit and the utmost drinkability. Juicy crushed berries, macerated with white peppercorns and vanilla bean. The wine is full, but yet elegant and display easy tannin and great acidity. The finish is fresh and pure to the end.
- Food Pairing
Rhône-styled blends pair well with Mediterranean flavours and roasted meats. Lamb is a classic pairing, braised or grilled. Rich stews and lightly spiced sauces also compliment wines with pepper and dense fruit profiles.
